Data Protection
Generally
We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this data protection declaration.
Our website can generally be used without providing any personal data. If personal data (such as name, address or email addresses) is collected on our website, this is always done on a voluntary basis wherever possible. This data is sometimes passed on to third parties in accordance with this privacy policy.
We would like to point out that data transmission over the Internet (e.g. when communicating by email) may have security gaps. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.
Hosting provider & server log files
The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. This is:
- IP address
- browser type and browser version
- operating system used
- referrer URL
- hostname of the accessing computer
- time of the server request
This data cannot be directly assigned to specific people. This data will not be merged with other data sources. We reserve the right to subsequently check this data if we become aware of concrete evidence of illegal use.
SSL encryption
This site uses SSL encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as the requests you send to us as the site operator. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from "http://" to "https://" and by the lock symbol in your browser line.
If SSL encryption is activated, the data you send to us cannot be read by third parties.
Online Booking Contact Form
If you make an online booking with us using the contact form, your details from the contact form, including the contact details you provided there and your IP address, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing your request and in the event of follow-up questions. We will not pass on this data without your consent.
Cookies
Some of the websites use so-called cookies. Cookies do not harm your computer and do not contain viruses. Cookies are used to make our service more user-friendly, effective and secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser.
Most of the cookies we use are so-called "session cookies". They are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them. These cookies enable us to recognize your browser the next time you visit.
You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be restricted.
Plugins & Tools
Our website uses WordPress. We use various tools and plugins to make operation more secure and improve the user experience. When using these tools, user-specific data is also processed.
Jetpack for WordPress
We have integrated Jetpack on this website. Jetpack is a WordPress plug-in that offers additional functions to the operator of a website based on WordPress. Among other things, Jetpack allows the website operator to have an overview of the visitors to the site. By displaying related posts and publications or the option to share content on the site, it is also possible to increase the number of visitors. Security functions are also integrated into Jetpack, so that a website using Jetpack is better protected against brute force attacks. Jetpack also optimizes and accelerates the loading of the images integrated into the website.
The operating company of the Jetpack plug-in for WordPress is Automattic Inc., 132 Hawthorne Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. The operating company uses the tracking technology of Quantcast Inc., 201 Third Street, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA.
Jetpack sets a cookie on the information technology system of the data subject. What cookies are has already been explained above. Each time one of the individual pages of this website, which is operated by the controller and on which a Jetpack component has been integrated, is called up, the Internet browser on the information technology system of the data subject is automatically prompted by the respective Jetpack component to transmit data to Automattic for analysis purposes. As part of this technical process, Automattic receives knowledge of data that is subsequently used to create an overview of website visits. The data obtained in this way is used to analyze the behavior of the data subject who has accessed the controller's website and is evaluated with the aim of optimizing the website. The data collected via the Jetpack component is not used to identify the data subject without first obtaining a separate, express consent from the data subject. The data is also brought to the attention of Quantcast. Quantcast uses the data for the same purposes as Automattic.
The data subject can prevent the setting of cookies through our website, as already explained above, at any time by means of a corresponding setting of the Internet browser used and thus permanently object to the setting of cookies. Such a setting of the Internet browser used would also prevent Automattic/Quantcast from setting a cookie on the information technology system of the data subject. In addition, cookies already set by Automattic can be deleted at any time via the Internet browser or other software programs.
Furthermore, the data subject has the option of objecting to and preventing the collection of data generated by the Jetpack cookie relating to the use of this website as well as the processing of this data by Automattic/Quantcast. To do so, the data subject must press the opt-out button under the link https://www.quantcast.com/opt-out/, which sets an opt-out cookie. The opt-out cookie set with the objection is stored on the information technology system used by the data subject. If the cookies on the data subject's system are deleted after an objection, the data subject must call up the link again and set a new opt-out cookie.
However, by setting the opt-out cookie, it is possible that our website will no longer be fully usable for the data subject.
Automattic’s applicable privacy policy can be found at https://automattic.com/privacy/Quantcast’s applicable privacy policy is available at https://www.quantcast.com/privacy/available.
Wordfence
To ensure the security of this website, we use the Wordfence plugin from Defiant, Inc. This sets cookies in your browser and records and stores your IP address. You can find more information in the Wordfence privacy policy https://www.wordfence.com/privacy-policy/.
Google Tag Manager
Google Tag Manager is a solution that allows us to manage so-called website tags via an interface (and thus integrate Google Analytics and other Google marketing services into our online offering, for example). The Tag Manager itself (which implements the tags) does not process any personal data of users. With regard to the processing of users' personal data, reference is made to the following information on Google services. Usage guidelines: https://www.google.com/intl/de/tagmanager/use-policy.html.
Google Analytics
This website uses functions of the web analysis service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.
Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies". These are text files that are stored on your computer and that enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.
Google AdSense
This website uses Google AdSense. This is a service provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, for integrating advertisements. Google AdSense uses cookies. These are files that are stored on your PC so that Google can analyze the data relating to your use of our website. Google AdSense also uses web beacons, invisible graphics that allow Google to analyze clicks on this website, traffic on this website, and similar information.
The information obtained via cookies and web beacons, your IP address and the delivery of advertising formats are transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Google may transfer this collected information to third parties if required by law or if Google commissions third parties to process the data. However, Google will merge your IP address with the other stored data.
You can prevent the cookies mentioned above from being saved on your PC by making the appropriate settings on your Internet browser. However, this may mean that the content of this website can no longer be used to the same extent. By using this website, you consent to the processing of the data collected about you by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above.
IP anonymization
We have activated the IP anonymization function on this website. This means that your IP address will be shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area before being transmitted to the USA. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide the website operator with other services relating to website activity and internet usage. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.
Browser plugin
You can prevent cookies from being saved by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser software; however, please note that if you do this, you may not be able to use all the functions of this website to their full extent. You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de
For more information on how Google Analytics handles user data, please see Google’s privacy policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de
Contract data processing
We have concluded a contract for order data processing with Google and fully implement the strict requirements of the data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.
Demographic characteristics in Google Analytics
This website uses the "demographic characteristics" function of Google Analytics. This enables reports to be created that contain information about the age, gender and interests of site visitors. This data comes from interest-based advertising from Google as well as visitor data from third parties. This data cannot be assigned to a specific person. You can deactivate this function at any time via the ad settings in your Google account or generally prohibit the collection of your data by Google Analytics as described in the "Objection to data collection" section.
Google Maps
We use the “Google Maps” component of Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA, hereinafter “Google”, on our website.
Each time the "Google Maps" component is called up, Google sets a cookie to process user settings and data when the page on which the "Google Maps" component is integrated is displayed. This cookie is generally not deleted when the browser is closed, but expires after a certain period of time, unless you delete it manually beforehand.
If you do not agree to this processing of your data, you have the option of deactivating the "Google Maps" service and thus preventing the transmission of data to Google. To do this, you must deactivate the Java Script function in your browser. However, we would like to point out that in this case you will not be able to use "Google Maps" or will only be able to use it to a limited extent.
The use of “Google Maps” and the information obtained via “Google Maps” is subject to the Google Terms of Use http://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/terms/regional.htm
and the additional terms and conditions for "Google Maps" https://www.google.com/intl/de_de/help/terms_maps.html
Facebook plugins (Like button)
Our web pages contain plug-ins from the social network Facebook, provider Facebook Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, California 94025, USA. You can recognise the Facebook plug-in by the Facebook logo or “Like button” on our page. You can find an overview of Facebook plug-ins here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/.
When you visit our pages, a direct connection is established between your browser and the Facebook server via the plug-in. Facebook therefore receives the information that you have visited our page using your IP address. If you click the Facebook “Like” button while you are logged into your Facebook account, you can link the contents of our pages to your Facebook profile. This allows Facebook to associate your visit to our pages with your user account. We would like to point out that as the provider of the pages, we have no knowledge of the content of the data transmitted or how it is used by Facebook. You can find more information about this in Facebook’s privacy policy at https://de-de.facebook.com/policy.php.
If you do not want Facebook to be able to associate your visit to our website with your Facebook user account, please log out of your Facebook user account.
Newsletter data
If you would like to receive our newsletter, we require an email address from you as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the specified email address and that you agree to receive the newsletter.
We use this data exclusively to send the requested information.
You can revoke your consent to the storage of your data, your email address and its use for sending the newsletter at any time, for example via the “unsubscribe” link in the newsletter.
Registrations for the newsletter are logged in order to be able to prove the registration process in accordance with legal requirements. This includes storing the time of registration and confirmation, as well as the IP address. Changes to your data stored at MailChimp are also logged.
MailChimp
The newsletter is sent via “MailChimp”, a newsletter distribution platform of the US provider Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE #5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA.
The email addresses of our newsletter recipients, as well as their other data described in this notice, are stored on MailChimp's servers in the USA. MailChimp uses this information to send and evaluate the newsletter on our behalf. Furthermore, according to its own information, MailChimp can use this data to optimize or improve its own services, e.g. to technically optimize the sending and presentation of the newsletter or for commercial purposes in order to determine which countries the recipients come from. However, MailChimp does not use the data of our newsletter recipients to write to them directly or to pass it on to third parties.
We trust in the reliability and IT and data security of MailChimp. MailChimp is subject to the US-EU data protection agreement "Privacy Shield“ and is therefore committed to complying with EU data protection regulations. Furthermore, we have a “Data Processing Agreement“. This is a contract in which MailChimp undertakes to protect the data of our users, to process it on our behalf in accordance with its data protection regulations and, in particular, not to pass it on to third parties. You can find MailChimp’s data protection regulations see here.
Statistical Survey and Analysis
The newsletters contain a so-called "web beacon", i.e. a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from the MailChimp server when the newsletter is opened. As part of this retrieval, technical information such as information about the browser and your system, as well as your IP address and the time of retrieval, is initially collected. This information is used to technically improve the services based on the technical data or the target groups and their reading behavior based on their retrieval locations (which can be determined using the IP address) or the access times.
The statistical surveys also include determining whether the newsletters are opened, when they are opened and which links are clicked. For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to individual newsletter recipients. However, it is neither our aim nor that of MailChimp to monitor individual users. The evaluations are much more useful for us to recognize the reading habits of our users and to adapt our content to them or to send different content according to the interests of our users.
Termination / Revocation
You can cancel your subscription to our newsletter at any time, i.e. revoke your consent. This also means that your consent to its dispatch via MailChimp and the statistical analyses will expire. It is not possible to revoke the dispatch via MailChimp or the statistical analysis separately.
You will find a link to unsubscribe from the newsletter at the end of each newsletter.
Legal basis General Data Protection Regulation
In accordance with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which will come into force on May 25, 2018, we inform you that consent to the sending of email addresses is based on Art. 6 Paragraph 1 Letter a, 7 GDPR and Section 7 Paragraph 2 No. 3 or Paragraph 3 UWG. The use of the shipping service provider MailChimp, the implementation of statistical surveys and analyses, and the logging of the registration process are based on our legitimate interests in accordance with Art. 6 Paragraph 1 Letter f GDPR. Our interest is in the use of a user-friendly and secure newsletter system that serves both our business interests and meets the expectations of users.
